The student branch of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has an active outreach program to increase children's interest in science and engineering by exploiting their inherent excitement in air and space vehicles and systems. Projects range from the 1993 Aero-Astro Fair for several hundred Cub Scouts, featuring hands-on activities like airplane building and the use of a portable wind tunnel, to high school science class visits and recruiting of minority and women students. They are open to suggestions for projects.
